Matsusaka beef is one of the top two branded wagyu in Japan. Every November, there is annual Matsusaka Beef Contest held in Matsusaka, Mie, and this year, it will be held on 25 Nov. 2018 from 10am at Matsusaka Nogyo Koen Bell Farm.
50 premium Matsusaka cattle chosen in the preliminary contest compete in this contest, and the best cattle will be regarded as “Queen of Matsusaka”. Right after the contest, auction of the Queen of Matsusaka will be held. Last year, the price of the Queen was 25,000,000 JPY (223,214 USD when 1 USD = 112 JPY). Will it go up this year?!
Matsusaka beef sukiyaki will be served free for 2,000 people on first come, first serve basis! There will be booths where you can enjoy Matsusaka beef charcoal yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) with some charge, too.
